Software Engineer
Duties: Design and develop models and features for network simulation software. Verify and validate model and feature correctness. Provide support and interact with customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's or Ph. D degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency in C or C++.
- In-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following areas is desirable:
- Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack
- Knowledge of Physical Layer concepts, such as propagation models, modulation/coding schemes, etc.
- Experience with discrete event simulation

Computer Software Engineer (15-1032.00)
Serve as a member of technical staff engaged in the research, design and development
of simulation software for wireless and other computer networking systems, including
responsibility for the research and development of network simulation and emulation
software for ad hoc wireless and wired networks utilizing various packet
communication systems, device drivers and protocols in both Windows and Linux-based environments; the design and optimization of software architectures; the
integration of simulation software with network systems; the conducting of software
development and modeling activities; the refinement of discrete event scheduling for
execution in parallel processing platforms; the design of algorithms for real-time
synchronization applications; the analysis of performance issues relating to sensor and
mobile ad hoc networks; and the provision of systems implementation and support
services.
Master’s (M.S.) degree in computer science or computer engineering.
