A large auto manufacturer is using QualNet to model wireless networks that support automobiles, which may include vehicle to vehicle communication and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) infrastructure. Vehicle to vehicle uses a wireless technology similar to 802.11 to transmit road conditions and other information from one vehicle to another. ITS is a system-wide network that can support autonomous vehicles as well as road and traffic conditions along the roadways. |

| Signal-harsh wireless network study |
QualNet is being used to study wireless networks in a variety of environments, including signal-harsh settings, scenarios where multiple wireless network standards co-exist.
Signal-harsh settings include industrial environments such as nuclear power plants and others with heavy ambient noise. Customers have also studied how Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) and Zigbee (IEEE 802.15.4) coexist in the same space. QualNet has also been used to model path loss through gaps in concrete walls, an important urban network phenomenon. |
